GBV AND SRHR

Under this pillar, we work to eliminate harmful societal norms, support survivors of gender-based violence, and strengthen awareness and access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

We strive to ensure that women and girls enjoy bodily autonomy, dignity, and equitable access to essential health services, even in the face of stigma or social barriers.

Strategic Intervention 1: SRHR Awareness, Sensitization, and Access

We focus on building knowledge, confidence, and informed decision-making among AGYW by providing accurate, inclusive, and age-appropriate SRHR information. We recognize that at times the main barrier is a lack of confidence, while in other cases stigma and societal pressures prevent young women from accessing information and services.

Our sensitization efforts reach young women aged 15 to 35, including those with disabilities, intersex individuals, and young women living with HIV. Through this work, participants gain guidance on where and how to access rights-based SRHR services, empowering them to take control of their health and bodily autonomy.

We provide initiatives that equip young women aged 18–21 to build healthy relationships, understand contraception and reproductive infections, and make informed sexual health decisions. These programs also integrate mental health and well-being support through group therapy, individual counseling, and peer support networks.

We also engage adolescents in schools and community settings, providing mentorship, reproductive health information, and occasional safe spaces for discussion. School clubs and holiday camps further support learning, personal growth, and social development in collaboration with schools, churches, and community halls.

Strategic Intervention II: Prevention and Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls

We work to remove barriers that limit women and girls from participating fully in society while promoting their leadership in ending violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Our interventions provide safe spaces where women can share experiences, access support, and begin healing without fear of judgment or stigma. Participants are empowered to reclaim their narratives, celebrate resilience, and support one another through therapeutic platforms, advocacy efforts, and community engagement.

We also support community-wide dialogue on power, privilege, societal norms, and gender equality. Boys, young men, families, and community leaders are engaged as allies to challenge harmful norms, embrace non-violent masculinity, and create supportive environments. Through intergenerational discussions, we build social movements that transform the communities and systems that perpetuate GBV, creating lasting change for women and girls.
