Land and Climate resilience
Empowering Women Through Land Rights and Climate Action
This pillar strengthens women’s and young women’s knowledge of land rights while promoting climate resilience. We focus on inherited and matrimonial land rights and address the link between land disputes and gender-based violence (GBV).
Women’s Land Rights Empowerment
Our forums equip women and young women with practical knowledge to protect their land and assert their rights. Participants learn about legal frameworks, securing land documentation, referral pathways including legal aid and mediation services, and strategies to prevent land-related disputes. The forums also challenge cultural norms and misconceptions affecting inheritance, focusing on women most vulnerable to exploitation, including those married early and living on ancestral land.
Climate Resilience and Sustainable Land Use
We promote climate-smart agriculture and sustainable land management practices, helping women enhance food security and strengthen community resilience. Participants gain skills in environmentally sustainable farming, natural resource conservation, and strategies for economic empowerment through climate-resilient livelihoods.
